Florence Dixie

This coat has got volume: the light silk taffeta comes with a bouncy body, showing the variations in the stripey weave. The green plain cotton weave brings a little more weight. Yet the experience of them together is charming and many subtle details keep the eye further involved. Two pleats at the back of the hem curve the silhouette slightly in. The silky stripes are cut in all possible directions to explore graphical possibilities. Delicate gussets supporting the underarms while being architectural events. The two layers are bound together by a delicate cotton weave, this front edge then pleats up into a small blue back collar, also creating interesting spatial explorations. From the same white and silvergrey cotton comes the belt, attached to one front and then fastened through a loop or simply with itself.
